Publications

The Club produces many publications in a variety of different formats all designed to keep Members up to date with developments in the shipping world, to assist them in their day to day operations and in dealing with the many challenges facing owners and managers. This area of the website provides access to these materials, or information about them, in html or pdf format:

• The latest Report and Accounts, Management Highlights and Mid Year Reviews, together with an archive for previous years.
• The Club newsletter, Sea Venture, is produced every 4 months. It contains Club news and summaries of articles which can be found in full on the website.
• Articles are written for the website by SIMSL staff and external contributors, including correspondents, lawyers and surveyors from around the world.
• The DVDs, Videos & CDs section provides information about various programmes in these media produced by the Club and others with whom the Managers work in association. The programmes are intended to assist and inform Members in a variety of ways. Those produced in association with Videotel Marine International, are directed towards onboard safety training. Others, particularly the Club's innovative Guide to Claims Handling provide guidance on how careful attention to casualty investigation and claims handling can minimise the financial consequences of a casualty.

• The Managers are producing a series of loss prevention posters for use onboard Members' vessels. The posters are based upon images of actual examples of poor practice and an illustration is used to convey the correct message.
